Crabapple seedlings

Red

5 year old buck +
I wanted to play around a bit with grafting so I collected a bunch of seeds from the tree in my yard this past fall. I currently have one group under the grow lights and just emerging and I'll do the second group closer to spring. My question is, when will they be big enough for grafting? Anyone who has tried it out, let me know.
Thanks

I would estimate one year from those I grew in the past. I did not use grow lights, but just a SE window and brought the seed indoors about Feb. or March.

You have 3 or 4 months start on what I used to do.

Thanks for the info. I figured I needed dormant rootstock for grafting but wasn't sure. If I get good enough growth I might try a t-bud or five this year.
