I don’t get the blow back on masks. I would make it optional for employees and mandatory for anyone coming into a place of business.

I live in a place like this. Except even employees are required to wear the mask “all day”. Even outside we are “required” to wear one if within 6 feet of someone not in your direct household.

I personally hate it. I get what it’s about. But it doesn’t change the fact that it’s irritating.

what really gets me is the fact that people get pissy if you don’t have one on outside.
I think that’s where a very small amount of blow back comes from.

people act like it’s a law. Our state legislature never argued it, voted on it or passed it.

One governor just said it’s so, So it is.

Call me nuts but I find the lack of blowback astounding. It may be the right thing to do but the way in which it was done bothers me.

hope this same Governor doesn’t decide we all need to drive electric cars because carbon dioxide is harmful. Because based on what I see every day, the sheep would do it.

I was out of town last weekend for my daughters softball tournament. We had some time to kill so we went to the mall. I was going to go into American Eagle and look for something but they required a mask. (Not to American to me but whatever) I respected there wishes and went to The Buckle which was the next shop over. They did not require a mask and I went in and bought something. I walked back and waited for my daughters to finish shopping at American Eagle. There was a younger women who walked in the store. An employee told her she had to wear a mask and pointed her towards the place where there was a box full of them. She smiled and walked passed them while looking around there store for the next 20 min. In the meantime my daughters came out and I said, "watch this". A short time later the women who refused to wear a mask came walking out with a bag full of there goods. They had no problem taking this women's money even though the lady at the door was complaining to another employee who appeared to be the manager for quite some time. I asked my daughters how that made them feel. They kinda just shrugged their shoulders and we left. (About what I expected from a 15 and 13 year old girl)

And just so everyone doesn’t think I’m overreacting.

NJ was supposed to reopen restaurants at 25% capacity on July 2nd.
Owners bought food and brought staff back in to work and get ready.

four days prior to the opening Gov Murphy announced that because some places in the state were not following social distance rules we would all be punished. Like the state population are his damn kids....

here’s the headline in the paper.

“N.J. restaurants NOT reopening for indoor dining this week after ‘knucklehead’ crowds at bars ruin it for everyone”

Who the hell does he think he is?

They do suck to wear. I refuse to wear one outside, that just makes no sense to me. If you are worried I am not wearing one outside get away from me. You hit on the real problem, our governors are idiots and change direction like a fart in the wind. When they don’t use common sense it creates blow back against things that may make sense. If you are running in a store for a few minutes just wear a mask, it might even save your life. Even better if everyone did it I wouldn’t have to listen to the media talk about it anymore.

Ask the two gym guys how that worked out. He turned the department of health on them and now they are up to their eyeballs in legal fees. Restaurants and bars are even easier to shut down, he will just pull their liquor license. Hard for a business to fight the government and media. While I am on the media, they are blaming the current spikes on Memorial Day gatherings and already setting up the 4th for the next wave but not one of them mentions the protests. Scum bags to 10th power.

Then the people need to march to his front yard and let him know that they arent going to stand for it. Look how well it has work for BLM, ANTIFA, etc!!!!!!

I’m seeing a gradual resistance to the masks. I go to Walmart in PA and the employees are wearing them but only about 50% of customers. In NY at Home Depot several weeks ago 100% were wearing masks. My last trip only about 75%. At my golf course in PA no one wears a mask anywhere, pro shop , restaurant or on the course. In NY only the employees So I generally think people are getting bothered with them. They sure might keep somebody from throwing germs out to a distance but when was the last time you’ve seen anybody out in public coughing and hacking like you normally do. If, as they say the virus can suspend itself in air (in a lab). Then your eyes are exposed anyway. I’m seeing more and more face shields by employees of some of these places. That to me would be much more comfortable during a work shift over a longer period of time. That would be my route.

Seems every day in our local paper there’s an opinion piece or comment that the mask law isn’t being enforced. People actual believe it’s a law. There’s a lot of comments now from farmers markets that are open. Lots of mask shaming by people running around at these markets. There’s definitely been some blowback that I’ve heard about By the end of summer I would expect the mask fad to go away. One way or another.

I am not wearing a mask whether my liberal Governor of MN says we have to or not. After he failed to stop the riots and looting, and the burning of the precinct, who is going to listen?

This is how stupid MN is. Yesterday morning my daughter calls me up crying, her boyfriend beat her up, and took her phone and threw it outside and wouldn’t let her out of the house, he finally let her go and she ran to her phone and called me, I told her to call the cops. They were there just before I got there. They hand cuffed him, took him to the jail, and the jail said they aren’t taking anyone in because of COVID-19, so he was booked and released. Minutes later he showed up at my daughters again, and the cops showed up again, the cops brought him back in, and within the hour he is back again yelling at my daughter, so the cops were called again, but this time the cops called his parents to come and get him and keep him away. He was on meth, and was hot, and not making any sense, and the jail just let him go several times the same day. Would they have done the same if he would have killed her? Robbed a bank? Who knows! But he should not have been released at all after being charged with 3rd degree domestic assault, breaking probation, and being messed up on meth.

Some douche bag abuses my daughter, goes to jail, is released, abuses her again...and I'm expecting the gooberment to do something about it? Lol. Dude is gone in some swamp and nobody knows shit about it...especially the internet community or the gooberment

I don't really get the resistance to wearing a mask. It hasn't been a common practice in our society and I know people love something to get upset about and somehow that became a focus. Sheep and what not. But it's the easiest thing you can do to protect your community and keep businesses open.

I'm social distancing pretty well so I mostly work from home and don't do much else but shop at the grocery store once a week, occasional drive thru/takeout, 1 haircut and hit the hardware store or liquor store as needed. Except for restaurants, I've seen good compliance to mask wearing here. I've stopped ordering from a couple restaurants because I came in for takeout and none of the staff wearing masks. Most people working those jobs can't afford to call in sick if they aren't feeling well or unpaid quarantine because they had contact with someone Covid. If none of the staff are wearing masks, it's only a matter of time before someone there is sick and spreading it around. That's true for a lot of businesses where the employees can't afford not to work.
