The flip side of this, is it’s just one guys opinion. Why is his opinion any more valuable than the guys who say they are a threat. I get it cause it’s controversial or whatever but I take all these opinions at face value because none of us are privy to the actual truth. This certainly fuels the flames on the narrative that the intelligence community hasn't seen Iran as a systemic threat to national security. Gabbard (this is her subordinate) said the same thing before the bombing last June.

I have to assume as the director of counter-terrorism that he would have an informed opinion on the matter. Doesn't mean its any more valuable than anyone else's but it should be more informed. The flip side of this, is it’s just one guys opinion. More credible than an entire ethos about destroying Americans and Israel while at the same time possessing advanced weaponry and a blood lust for nuclear weapons? Like I said I can only put together the tea leaves I have to work with, my top secret clearance keeps getting denied. I’m absolutely not discounting this individual I’ve never heard in a role I didn’t know existed prior to today but I just want to be open about it and not assume cause someone said something like this the gig is up. But here’s another thing, even if I have a definitive opinion I can back up with facts…no one is listening to me in a position of power not matter how convincing my posts are on a habitat forum.I have to assume as the director of counter-terrorism that he would have an informed opinion on the matter. Have you seen many people come out and say they saw credible evidence there was a threat? I've mostly seen people in the admin defer to Trump and say, "Trump felt..."
Feels like another possible WMD scenario, IMO.
It’s hard to make that argument at all considering Iran has been the number 1 State sponsor of terrorism for how long? I think this guy’s got other things going on. Maybe some of that money Biden sent over to Iran has circled back to him in some way changing his perspective.I have to assume as the director of counter-terrorism that he would have an informed opinion on the matter. I don't agree with SD's foreign policy views all the time, but he's right that this is a horribly unpopular conflict. Perhaps the messaging has even been worse than the conflict itself. Today's events don't make it any better.
Trump should look for the nearest off-ramp IMO.
It's been some pretty remarkable gymnastics, no doubt about that. The nuclear program dismantle has turned to a regime change, and then an oil heist, and then a second nuclear program dismantle, and then a naval blockade we can’t stop, then a ground force to dismantle the nuke program a third time, and now our allies won’t help bust the blockade in the Hormuz.
And we’re not even three weeks in.

A face value analysis of this is always going to be missing pieces. Here's what I mean...SD sorry man but would you prefer us getting nuked instead, keep giving them cash on pallets, or sticking your head in the sand? I've waited 47 years for this to happen and it's about time and watching all the past presidents kick the can down the road for the world to have a much brighter future is worth a month's of my time . My thoughts and prayers go out to our brave military. May God bless them and their families for their sacrifices and service to the country.
I'm sure everyone in the middle east wants peace. But what do you do with the 500 million muslims and christians who also don't want to give up their land, natural resources, faith, and sovereignty? If this dismantling of the Iranian terrorist regime doesn't continue to it's fruition, end of the mullah control, what will stop it from continuing to terrorize the whole region?
How many here want continued war in the ME to be taken for granted. This could be the chance with nearly every muslim country wanting peace.
