Conspiracy theorys, where do you stand?

The conspiracy of J6 is that it was an insurrection.

For 9 months we'd been told protests were GOOD and ESSENSIAL for moving forward and healing our nation.

For 9 months we'd been told that violence and burning cities (and government buildings) was not violent, bad, or harmful.

When those people stormed the Capital they did exactly what they'd repeatedly been told was ok and needed by our media and leaders. But... our nation's capital is sacred ground. In my opinion it is not a place to destroy or damage. I wouldn't spit on our Capital on my worst day (not saying I wouldn't spit on some of the people who work there). For that those people did something stupid that they absolutely should not have participated in, but they certainly aren't the insurrectionist that our politians and media labeled them as. It's a catch phase to disparage a group similar to calling someone Hitler, or saying that Trump supporters are white supremist, or that calling covid the "China virus" is xenophobia (when it's a well established practice such as The Spanish Flu, West Nile virus, Ebola, the Bird Flu, the Swine Flu, etc). They should be held accountable, but not as insurrectionist.

J6, to me, has always been one of the MOST patriotic things I’ve seen in the public sphere in my lifetime. I think history will agree with me one day too.

Tyrannical Government must be overthrown. It’s who we are.

For the most armed country in the world, it’s amazing that a bunch of insurgents stormed the capitol building armed with iPhones and flags. That’s the mark of a true radical element attempting to overthrow the most powerful government on earth.

Are you police? I can't recall. All my police friends threw huge support behind Trump.
Supporting Trump and supporting what happened on J6 are two different things.

We agree more than not, I think. But this is exactly what Hunter should have got. Hence the notion that Trump should pardon the J6 folks.
I don’t agree with the pardon of Hunter.

I didn’t agree with the mass commutations of drug traffickers Obama (and even Trump did a fair amount.)

Catscratch, when I see protesters marching around with signs chanting their nonsense, I am disgusted. I don’t care who they are, BLM, the idiots in Dearborn, or “our” side. It’s stupid. It’s guaranteed by our constitution but if my kids ever protested I would disown them. There are better ways to get what you want.

But now we are getting somewhere. I actually believe that to some extent the J6’ers are victims. But I don’t think they were victims of the government, they are victims of ……….. CONSPIRACY THEORIES. These people were stolen from their loved ones and their lives by all the QAnon bs and the folks who used it to their own advantage to stir them up and get them to go do this stuff. I listen to podcasts when I mow all summer. (I am very careful what I will listen to. Podcasts are a means by which people and their thinking are manipulated every day.) After J6, I listened to one called Will Be Wild. It delved into interviews with the families of Jan 6’ers, how they came to be under the spell of the conspiracies and some of them absolutely regretted what they did. That podcast is dated. A lot has happened since then.

My point is this- people seeking power or money (think podcasters, think Proudboys etc) manipulate and victimize people like you and me and our friends and family. It’s part of why I post in this thread. I know guys don’t like it.

It’s not OK to storm the Capitol. It’s not OK to burn our cities like what happened in Minneapolis or St. Louis. None of it was OK. If we allow ourselves to be out of control it legitimizes what others do.

I refuse to pretend it’s ok.

More conspiracy talk LOL! It's not a conspiracy theory when it's proven to be true time and Time again. They weren't victims of conspiracy theories or conspiracy theory talks or anything like that. They were victims of a stolen election of being lied to by a liberal criminal arm of the government. What they were protesting they had still have and always will have the ultimate right to do. They were protesting, a stolen crooked election.

It was the most unpatriotic thing an American can do.

We dont change things by breaking windows.

We don’t change things by bashing in doors.

We don’t spray cops with bear spray.

We don’t hit cops with flag poles.

We don’t act like fools.

We looked like an un-disciplined pack of baboons that day. We caused destruction to something our ancestors built. We acted like the third world losers that crack pot dictators manipulate.

Look at the videos. Really look at them. You won’t be able to stand 30 minutes of it.

As a Minnesotan , nothing had ever been so difficult to watch —than watching 1200 + buildings destroyed after the George Floyd incident…

Tim Walz and Mayor Frey let it happen, then made excuses. Minneapolis has never been the same. I was so happy to see Walz get his ASS kicked on election night !!!

I have not seen of heard from Tim since !

Bill, I don’t think you even marginally understand what happened that day.

I don’t think you have any understanding of what motivated these people to do what they did.

They were absolutely victims of conspiracy theories and misinformation.

They were manipulated. They allowed themselves to be manipulated. They weren’t strong, they were weak minded.

A lot of them are paying the price now. They are in prison because whether you like it or not, sometimes, some days, people hare held responsible for their actions.

Disgusting. I am truly disgusted that they let it happen.

Some of those areas will never come back from that. The L.A. riots in the 90’s caused blight in the city that has never been fixed. THE 90’S!!!!! That was a really long time ago.

Thats why this stuff is so important.

Not to mention imagine explaining to someone from another planet what those people were supporting. A felonious drug addict, career criminal, who put a gun to a pregnant woman’s belly in an armed robbery, getting arrested for passing counterfeit money, died while being restrained by police with a heart condition and multiple high level drugs in his system. What a true American tragedy.

Bill that is just not true.

The hours of videos of the windows being broken out, the doors being forced open by a mob are un-deniable.

It is a tragedy. We let it happen to us. We gotta do better in this country. I truly hope we are headed in that direction.

Step #1 is pull our heads out of our a$$es that every damn thing has something to do with dems vs reps or libs vs cons. It’s just not that simple.

I gotta go folks. Thanks for putting up with me and thanks for the discussion.

Think we need more like this although I don’t always want to be the one stirring things up.

It’s literally not a tragedy. The fact an officer is in jail is a tragedy.

That day really screwed with some peoples’ heads. But when a majority of voters and every swing state completely disregarded it, I think those people owe it to themselves to take another look.
