College Basketball

Having grown up when the Vikes were shining and the Packers and Badgers both were extremely bad, all we got were TV stations out of the Twin Cities, except for 13 out of EC. Most of the kids I grew up with were Vikes and Gophers fans, and they were, well, kids. The ribbing I got was never ending. For a while now, major WI sports have been humming, but it's only a matter of time before it swings back around again.

Not trying to get too deep here, but I've always wondered which is worse: having a state that lives and dies with sports or being apathetic, as most of MN is to pro and UM sports?
 
That is why all Ole and Lean folks have all Them missing teeth. One too many pucks.

Or a state like KY that gave Paul "Bear" Bryant a cigarette lighter and Adolph Rupp a Cadillac at the same sports banquet...LOL. That's a true story.

Nevertheless, I'm having a hard time not watching KY basketball this year.

It seems like KY is always a top 10ish team, but they are just stupid good this year. Watching them the handful of times I have, those games didn't even seem fair.

So far the only game I missed this year was the pay per view one. When they are hot its pretty much lights out, but they come out a little disinterested sometimes, and that has made for some tight games. I wish they could skip the SEC Tourney, because I hate to see them play Arkansas again...LOL.
 
3 giants will fall before the sweet 16 from now on. Wi is good but they will have to pick it up for a ff run. Kentucky is due for a loss before the nc, but they are the favorites to win it all.
The gophers need to savor their women's hockey title, cause they won't get much more. Haha

Os has historically been a better team so the win doesn't matter. Haha
Those woman's hockey titles didn't help the gopher basketball team, penn state sucks! Hahaha

Man, I have been away too long. The wisconsin game was brutal. I will say this, we were siting next to dekkers dad and franks dad. One would think as grown men they would have a little class, but they were really taunting the student section! I usually don't let that kind of thing bother me but I couldn't take some of the stuff they were doing and saying. Just had to shake my head and let sams dad know just how good looking his daughter was :p.

Rough year for us, we lost two players before the season started that could have helped and Richard still needs to get his type of players here. Next year looks like it will be another rough one...not good but I still believe in our coach! He is still learning too, this is only his third season as a head coach

Yup, at this point in the season, a 1 point win is just that, another win!

If the Badgers run the table this weekend and own the terps, they have a pretty good shot at a #1. We shall see if they deserve it. If they loose, they don't deserve a #1. Real simple

my pediction is happening quicker than I thought. Still plenty of time for another top 4 to drop before the tourney.
 
Played like a #1 today. Still think they need to beat Maryland tomorrow to improve their chances at a #1.
 
Agreed badger, might as well be a unanimous Big Ten Champion while they are at it. I like the sound of Big Ten Regular Season Champion and Big Ten Tournament Champion, it has a nice ring to it.;)
 
I don't think we will beat Maryland tomorrow as there on the way home.
 
Holy $hit...I need a drink!!! WOW, how big is the Gasser save towards the end of regulation..got away with one there and Bucky took advantage of it. Congrats Badgers!
 
Yeah, that was a fun one to watch! Locked up that no. 1 seed for sure I wouldnthink
 
Looks like we will have Arizona again this year.
