Bow holder in a box blind?

Turkey Creek

5 year old buck +
As I hunted this morning for the 1st time out of the box blind with my bow, I realized I had no way to hang or secure the bow while I was just setting there. I thought maybe I could rig something up to hang it from the ceiling, but then could imagine that getting in the way when I went to draw on a deer. What does everyone else use? Thanks

My son has one of those kickstand bow holders that lets you sit it on the floor upright.

Maybe the ceiling hook won't get in my way. I just know it is somewhat tight quarters and with an arrow knocked it will limit motion already so I will want the bow hanging basically in shooting position. I only have one bow window so I know all shots will be out the same spot of the blind.

Will you sit with that window open? If so, you can ceiling mount the hook so the arrow sticks out the open window. That will put the bow as far forward as possible and free up a lot of room.

I just got one of those for hunting out of a ground blind. I used to have a hook hanging from one of the supports and never liked the noise it made while lifting the bow off of it.

Highly impractical is many ways, but I've always wondered if a bow would shoot off a tripod of it would cause problems with harmonics and not shoot well.

I say that, but have never bothered to try. I have all the needed parts to try it and it would take me 5 minutes to set up. Hmmm.....

I have a kickstand on my Hoyt. Nice when hunting in a blind. Also, tie my haul line on it and set it upright on the ground rather than having the entire thing laying on the ground or in the snow. Shooting is no problem, acts a little bit as a front weight as I have a rear side stabilizer.

I would guess the window would be open most of the time. So good point. I could mount it so the bow is as close to the window as feasible when hanging. When I draw I won’t be leaning out the window, so clearing anything on the ceiling should not be an issue there.

I've used "S" hook from the ceiling. Most of the time I just set the bow on the floor. Bowstring along the floor, arrow pointing up.
