They got antonovka? I might have to quit cheating, 2nd year grafting turning point. Not many seem to be taking. Wanted 1 on m111. Not looking good. Grafted only 1 roadkill and put some scion in a mature tree water whip. They're doing good.
Yes, I think they had a bunch left over still. The dolgo rootstock is all sold out.
Nevermind, no they don't. All sold out now.

Im good for this year. 20 out of 28 grafts look like they're taking so far, although its only been about 3 weeks. Put them on the east facing front porch for a week or so. Everything I wanted something of took except, No turning points on m111, both look dead. But 5/5 took on siberian and anty. No adirondack on either siberian or m111. But, 3 siberian crabs not taking a graft is similar to adirondack. Wanted some birds to plant crabapples in the future up there. They'll use that one.
I wanted a dozen for camp and 3 at home, rest are gifts. Should be there on that.

Really loving this Roadkill Crab. It had 4 small crabapples in its first year in the ground. I missed pinching off the blossoms. This year it's loaded for a small tree yet. Weirdly I have very few blossoms on my more established trees. This tree was still holding the 4 apples minus the one I picked to try as it's now blossoming. I did have to stake it up though. It's leaning a bit as you can see.

I did prune it a few weeks ago. I didn't want to take too much off of it. It's only the 2nd year in the ground. Just tried to take off all of the low branches first. I'll try to shape it up better next year.

It's in an open spot in a small patch of poplars and on the North side of the hill. Definitely not full sun but it gets decent sunlight. I cut down all of the poplars around it.

I'm guessing someone asked because the tree has a lean, likely towards sunlight. I'd try to straighten the central leader more by staking it higher.

It's oddly leaning towards the hill. I would think it would lean away from the hill to get more sunlight. Next time I'm up I'll look at it a little closer. It's also more open down the hill from it.

By my count, he has around 1,978 pear trees left in stock. It's very tempting, but unless he runs a sale I probably will hold off. I'm still not sure how pears are going to do at my camp (zone 5a, formerly 4b) and I'm hesitant to add more until I have a better idea.

He is running a sale on them. He said he'd like to see them go in the ground somewhere. Just relaying info.

I didn't price them before we talked on the phone, so I don't know what they cost earlier. I only know he said he had a sale on them for $20.
