Blind chair

I rigged this up for this season in my box blind. An office chair took up to much space, the kids got me a blind chair but it sat to high. I was using a wooden folding chair but after a couple of hours I was hurting. Had this old hammock chair laying around so I gave it a go. Works great. I’ll look for a different color or dye it for next year

What in the 50 Shades?!?! Joking. That is pretty slick.

We use an old office chair, I think one of the new gaming chairs would be sweet those are made to live in.

This may be a dumb question, but can the windows be modified, cut higher so you can sit in it and be more comfortable on a normal size chair?

One of my stand looks downhill on the north side, and uphill to the south. I was constantly ducking to look south, and sitting up to look north, after a couple years of that I just redid the windows so I could just sit normal and be able to see from all sides.

They can be. I'm not sure how much effort it will be, but it's probably a better long term solution.

I tried that once. It was a bit flimsy, and the arms broke off after not too long, and it wasn't all that comfortable. Luckily I didn't pay much for it. I went to get a better one, and did a deep dive on reddit. Apparently a lot of gaming chairs are flashy colors and hype targeted at teenagers. Really good ergonomical chairs are insanely expensive to buy new. I'm still on the lookout for a deal.

I used old office chairs in the hard sided blinds this year. The chairs were a little noisy so I sprayed lubricant to get rid of some of the squeaks. Next season I'll tighten all of the bolts and respray with a lubricant. Having armrest, swivel, padding and height adjustment is very nice!

Ground blinds I use plastic lawn chairs.

The ones I’ve looked at are $500 and up, crazy comfortable…maybe too much. They remind me of fast car racing seats. My old ass would probably be asleep in a couple minutes.

Exactly what I found. I've never owned a $500 chair before. Unfortunately, they are hard to find used. People who buy them seem to like them and keep them.

I would be afraid the mice would like it way to much as well.

If your blond is not rodent-proof, you will have to remove your chairs after the hunting season.

It’s not a recliner, but of all the hunting chairs I own, this Alps my nephew bought me for Christmas is the best. You can adjust the legs independently to get a little tilt back, fine if hunting out the front and sides, but it will be tilting forward if you spin 180.

Since this thread was resurrected from my reply in 2021, here is an update. We have a few new redneck blinds and I wanted to try something on wheels, so we ordered this el-cheapo-deluxe office chair from Amazon. While they can be a little difficult to assemble, once together they are not a bad chair. Comfy enough for an all day sit and I can scooch down and nap if necessary. As they age they do need a squirt or two of oil to avoid squeaks, but for the $75 price I've been pleased.

For smaller blinds I like the "secretary chairs" (no armrests). Two fit in 4x4, and the price is usually around $30 at Walmart/Target. For the larger blinds I use office chairs.

I also really like these folding hunting chairs, such as this one.

I liked these too when I looked at them, but researched them and found a lot of complaints with the feet breaking on these. Stopped at a discounter that sells returns and he had a lot of this style and every one of them had at lease one broken foot. Down here, most of us just put the chair on the ground and that causes the feet to break on them. I am sure they would be fine if you have them on a flat surface.

Which one? If you are referring to the one with wheels, a friend of mine knocked the wheels off one and bolted it to a 3'x3' piece of plywood. He also had a pedestal boat chair bolted to a piece of plywood. Seemed to work.

The folding hunting chair. I was looking at several, really liked the BOG posted earlier, but the game winner and the one BPS sold were the ones with broken feet at the discount seller's place.

I have two used Aeron chairs in blinds that are really nice, but the cold draft is a downside. I have a leather Haworth Zody executive as my home office chair. Would love to have a few of them for stand chairs, but at the price, I am fine with the used Aeron's.

Gotcha. I have very little experience with hunting chairs, and the stools I use don't have adjustable feet. Those telescoping feet seem like a good idea in theory, but they would have to be very robust to work properly.

I heard back from BOG. The height range is 17"-24", which is fairly standard. Still on the hunt for something low, but will probably enlarge the window in the spring/summer.

What about a regular folding chair. The legs can be cut to size and caps put back on.

^ That is what I have gone to in some of our blinds.......the ones that have mouse problems. I just use low priced steel folding chairs and then add a boat cushion when the season rolls around. End of mouse chewing problems. In the Redneck and Banks blinds.....I have more comfy executive office chairs.

That's what I have, but without the blind. 😄
