Bark grafts & frost

DrewMc

A good 3 year old buck
I tried my hand at bark grafting to 4 pear trees yesterday at my camp. These were supposed to be Nativ Nursey deer pears that after 7 years turned out more like a Callery pear. Anyway, this morning it touched 30 degrees and we had a light frost. There are a couple days in the next week it might hit freezing again. How much will this hurt the grafts chance of survival? The trees have already leafed out. I'm in the mountains of SW PA. I didn't know when I'd have another chance to get down there, which is why I didn't wait longer.

It won't be a problem. I usually start field grafting in mid March.
