Yea. Not too often it's like this in the fall. Always like it in the spring. I just want some colder weather. Planning on taking off from October 28 - November 6, unless the weather looks really warm then I'd push it a week.

Got the base of my new gun stand up today. Still have to put the steps on the ladder on the way home today. Forgot them in the garage this morning. Went pretty smooth. Will need to make some shooting lanes this winter with the chainsaw but it'll do for this year.

Got the blind up. Took about an hour by myself.

Bow hunted this morning before putting it up. 1 spike and a couple antlerless going back and forth for 1.5 hours. Not bad for being so warm.

Looks good. With any luck and some help I just might get the plywood up and installed and the blind built on my dad's next weekend. We are quickly running out of time.

No kidding. Only two more weekends of bowhunting after this. Glad I'm off all week but the warmth isn't helping. Did see 3 this morning and 7 tonight though. Just have to be out there.

Haven't updated this thread in awhile. Took a 4-point with the bow my last morning to hunt before gun season.

Came by 2 minutes after getting into the stand at 10 yards.

Got started on the base for another box blind. This time with a porch.

If I remember correctly you said you brought your deer to Wisconsin River Meats. If so you should be eating sausage soon. My buddy dropped his off a week before you and got the call already.

Yep he had sausage made.

Sweet. Hopefully I get the call in a couple weeks. I know they've been pretty quick before when taking in boneless before the gun season.

No call yet but I'm in no rush. Built another base tonight. Planning on wood walls/roof for this one.

Trapper got 3 coons and a possum off our place this month. And had one trap drug off. Wonder what that could have been?
