Arrowhead and other historic/pre-historic collections

Went for a productive walk tonight. I think a couple of these may be scrapers or something other than a point. They feel polished on the convex sides. Maybe they’re nothing either. IMG_1703.jpegFound these over the past weekend. The larger one has a smoother around (spot for thumb?) and there are gouges out of it towards the tip. The smaller looks like the edge was worked. Back sides of both are relatively flat. What do you think…something or just rocks?

I’m no expert, were there other rocks in the area that looked similar?

I was just doing some minor digging in this area and only pulled these two out. There may be others but didn’t dig too much.

I believe the big one came from the Fremont people. And the smaller one is Ute.IMG_20240607_203746_HDR.jpg

This is a clam from the very southwest tip of the Colorado Plateau, found on the Kolob Terrace at 8,400' in sandy loam inclusions. After millions of years, they taste like shit.IMG_20240607_204802.jpg

Toby found a pretty cool one at our new spot out on the prairie. It has a tip nick but he's all smiles. He thought he was unearthing a flint chip only, so we didn't get an ATL pic. We're calling it a Lecroy for now. It's the most bifurcated point in our family's collection. It's prime cutworm season on the calendar, so we took off 15 miles in a different direction to do a little scouting, and I found a complete Madison triangle. Our season will be starting to wind down as we check our last couple spots and the crops grow.

What’s is the last pic? Seems like bone. I’m getting discouraged just finding pieces.

Looks like bone to me too. Do you have pics with other views of it?

When I get discouraged with just finding pieces and brokens I'll head to the shop and fix some. Nothing fancy and not trying to camouflage the repair, just what I imagined it originally looked like.

I will take some more. I like the idea of fixing them. What do you use? Apoxie sculpt?

Sorry it took so long. I just use 2 part epoxy from Walmart or a parts store. I did these with JB Weld.

I'm curious what some think this is. It's been worked on all sides and angles, but there is a significant curve in it. I want to say it was an abandoned piece, but they spent quite a bit of time finishing half of it before trying to take the curve out of it. I also think it could be a knife. It's about 4 inches long.
