Adding spray tips to sprayer

I'd like to increase the boom on my 3pt sprayer. Its this model http://www.tractorsupply.com/en/stor...-hitch-sprayer

The pump is 12v 2.1 gpm. Could I add two more sections of pipe with 2 addition tips to increase my width? Not sure how to figure if the pump would keep up with the 2 tip increase...

If so, any clue the best place to pick up the foldable brackets so the boom collapses if you run into something with it?

Without knowing the flow rate of the tips in question we have no idea. You need the combined flow rate thru the tips to be less than the flow rate of your pump (with some fluff). You can replace your tips with a lower flow rate if you need to as well. With the way things are designed and built now days I would not be surprised that the pump is sized to supply what is there and additional tips may require a higher flow pump, or you may have to go to lower flow tips.

If your not sure what flow tips you have - run water at pressure thru them and measure what you get out of one of them in a minute. That should get you enough info to be dangerous with.

Also keep in mind the flow rate of your tips, number of tips, application width and ground speed all affect your ability to apply chemical at proper rate. In most cases everything is fixed - except your ground speed - last thing you want is to be crawling along or flying low over rough ground.

I have a Minnesota Wanner company catalogue. It has every thing you would ever need. Call 1-800-247-4998. Have everything ready, pump volume, tip height above ground, space between tips. You will need a (y) for bypassing into tank, pressure gauge. Suggests a glycerine filled gauge. If you go to a larger pump, suggest using. Larger pickup line. Most pumps use 3/8" tubing, you need to use 1/2" from pickup to pump!

I replied to your "math" question on the other site. Hopefully I didn't screw it up - make myself look like a moron! I do enough of that as it is.
