    Hey j bird, Was checking out this pic, noticed that the grass stalk on left is still green. Does that stalk still have a node higher up and we just cant see. Or is there another reason for this? Interestd as I also have started to play with Miscanthus

    West central il. Been hot. Planted 108. about 8 up, but not very big. I had killed area with glyphosate prior to planting. planted 3-4 inches deep. soil is a heavier clay.

    Pretty Stoked today. Walked property checking on various projects and noticed that a chestnut tree that has catkins on it (for the first time) had a hull formed on the branch. First one for this project, very cool to notice these changes. Now if there are any nuts within that hull come fall...

    That is a rough cut Kunz mower. That canary grass is between 5 and 6 foot. I've kept the orchard areas clean as I could. But today went out to west side of Property. Grass had not been cut all year, I've taken to putting trails through the grass which seems to encourage deer trails.
