What's for dinner?

View attachment 88304Had a costume party this evening it was sort of fun
That picture goes good with the noon meal we enjoy yesterday (noon CST, 6:00 pm in London). We had High Tea at a board members house. The meal was exquisite, and my wife enjoyed the experience immensely. The Maple-Roasted Butternut Squash and Apples soup and Smoked Turkey with curry sandwiches were so good, I requested the recipes.

I studied overseas for a time, so High Tea was not new to me, but it was the first from my wife. Our host was from England, but married an American Naval officer, so has spent most of her adult life in the states. He and I discussed fishing, gardens and camping while the gals debated the merits of various teas and spices.

Good gravy, is that a photo you took of the actual meal?

Pork cutlets with tarragon cream sauce and a side of spinach and beans with eggs.

It's from her brochure...as she does High Tea's for groups and special events. The actual dinner was even more spectacular, and the spread was enough for ten, even though it was just my wife and I. We both wish we would have taken pictures, but that might have been considered "not cricket."
