weed barrier fabric

Planning tree maintenance and planting for this year and was shopping for weed barrier fabric.
Amazon has some good prices on commercial stuff (link below). Anyone ever use the poly based weed barrier? I have used fabric style with good results but this 5'x250' roll caught my eye as the price is good. Just wanted y'alls expert opinion before I drop 80 bucks on this stuff. Figured a 5x5ft square be more than good for tree plantings. One roll do 50 trees.. Have a bunch or left over lumber from my house build that i planned to lye down on mats to hold in place, then drive 8 penny nails through boards to hold in place. If that makes sense

I just ordered 3x300 foot roll of lumite and delivered to my door in Kansas was 140.00,this will do 100 trees for me.Lumite is rated alot higher and won't deteriorate

Is lumite the poly plastic type material or more fabric type?

I guess I would describe it as a combination I wasn't for sure what it was until I read more and it's the same stuff the state gave me in 8ft rolls for shrub program I did.Its been there 7 years and I need to cut it out this year so more growth can come in
