Got shafted on the rain again. 1"-1.5" predicted and we got a couple hundredths.
I'm just ready for the season to open at this point. Although it's looking like I may not get out early season much, if at allHaven't had any rain for about a month now. Brassicas were looking good but I feel with no rain in sight, they may start to go downhill. I feel you bueller, I spread 50 pounds of rye on my new clover plot 2 weeks ago since we were suppose to get rain and now it's missed up twice. Been a very frustrating year.
The turkeys are likely enjoying all the rye I seeded a week and a half ago. I may have to throw another bag on the plot next time up to compensate.
Hallelujah. After a bunch of swing and misses since planting I'm finally getting a good soaker right now! :emoji_cloud_lightning::emoji_cloud_rain:
Rained again at my place today, Bill! You didn't get it? I had a pic from the farm with my mineral lick full of water.
Pops says I had nearly 2" of rain in my gauge! He had almost 3" a mile away. And those just a couple miles west of us didn't get a drop.Hallelujah. After a bunch of swing and misses since planting I'm finally getting a good soaker right now! :emoji_cloud_lightning::emoji_cloud_rain:
I used to plant Labor Day weekend but after several years of dry September's and really late germinating rye (week into bow season before useful) I now plant in the middle of August. Plots will be lush green for the bow opener.Just got about .8 right now, though the forecast was for only .15. Should have put my cereal mix in today...........
