Yes, it is a bit nipply out. I wussed out from going last night, but the -28 below windchill was very convincing when I was outside. I may convince myself to not go tonight as well. That sucks, because I would really like 1 more deer this year, and I have until the 1st.

"Heavy snow expected. Travel will be very difficult to impossible at times, including during the morning commute on Friday. Total snow accumulations of 8 to 14 inches, with localized higher amounts are expected."

... virtually all schools are closed tomorrow. garbage pickup also cancelled.

I usually enjoy all of the seasons throughout the year, but this winter seems to be dragging on more. I am ready for spring anytime now.

Maybe it is because I am getting older, or there has been a long stretch of cold, or that we didnt take a southern winter vacation this year, or all of the above, but it can warm up anytime now.

This winter sucked. Too cold to do much outside. Not enough snow to go skiing. Freezing and thawing, making a mess out of the ground. I might just leave.

It does seem like this winter has gone on forever....hunting season is over for the most part, over a month to go before my ordered trees show up, to early to start pruning. All I’ve got to look forward to in the next month is cutting a few trees up for firewood.

Over hyped as usual. We did get 14" or so but that was over a 48 hr period with long gaps in between the snowfalls.

This prolonged cold is getting old. Extended forecast shows more of the same. Our ground is still frozen and we didn't have much snow this year so I suspect the frost runs deep. Last couple years I've planted plugs around April 10th. Looks like pushing back my delivery date might be a good idea.

Interesting, by me on Sunday the ground was still rock hard in the woods. Even in the open areas only the very top was beginning to loosen up.

We got about a foot of snow Saturday up at my place and now there is a winter storm watch for Tuesday with another 8-12 forecasted. I was happy with the winter up until recently. Now with this new snow and forecasted cold temps not so much. This could be tuff on the deer. Spring needs to come soon.
