Tried Kindercrisp apples today

My wife and I tried some Kindercrisp apples today from a local orchard. We never tried them before. Pretty tasty. Fairly sweet, crisp & juicy. The orchard owner said Kindercrisp is a short-season apple & he'd only have it for another week or 2. It's a smaller apple, but well worth eating. If sweetness is a draw for deer, Kindercrisp fills the bill. Kids would probably love it, too.

I grabbed one from the tree this evening. Not fully ripe but it tasted good.

The Kindercrisp apples we tried are from an orchard that's in SE Pa. - about 1 hour west/northwest of Philly. Ripe as of Sept. 5th at that location ..... for comparison of ripening time to your place.
