Tree Planting weather

TonySoprano

5 year old buck +
Calling for 81 Degrees next Saturday !!!. The following week I do have 3 trees coming from Blue Hill.
I'm just worried if it gets this warm my existing crabs and pears will bloom...then get a late frost as usual.
2025 was the first year I had no Granny Smith Apples or any crabs because of a late frost.

How did your 30-06's fare last year. My one tree at home I am shocked how late it blooms compared to other crabs. I aim for bloom gorup 3 or 4 apples. Only exception is liberty only because how well talked about that tree is.

30-06 seems to be on par with enterprise for me. I have very few pears and may be digged up one or two non performers this year. Too many complaints about early frosts.

Blooming late was a majot consideration for using 30-06 at camp alot. SLN's crab offerings seem to wake up almost a month sooner. IF crossbow would flower a bit later, it would probably be the only hunting season crab I would plant.

IF the trees aren't here yet, just dig the holes and get the cages ready. 81 is nice. Had 52 here at home, but had to work until 3pm yesterday.
