FINALLY! The first daytime pictures (three pics at twi-light in the last two days) since the first weekend in November (opening firearms season). That is almost 5 weeks without a daytime deer picture on my property. You cannot chute 'em.....it they ain't out in daylight hours. Crazy how nocturnal the deer have become. these days.
^ All week I've been asking myself "Is it the second rut? I haven't seen a deer all week?" (at work, where they're damn near tame, you can walk by them ten feet away and they don't run. I can see as many as 40 a day, But I haven't seen one all week. Finally, leaving late tonight I caught the silhouettes of 7 or 8 out in a feild eating.
And while I was typing that, this hit my phone.
Fisher and coyotes in the same night, it's no wonder there's so few turkey.
From my last camera pull there were a couple of clips from the rut that I thought were kind of interesting. I don't mind using solar or paying extra for batteries to run the cams in video mode if it means occasionally getting to see things like this:
This is the first picture I have received from this camera since we got snow on the ground. Are those animal tracks in front of the camera or the snow just forming around the plant matter in the field? If it's animal tracks than my camera is either failing to take pictures or failing to send some pictures. I'm away from the land for the weekend so I can't check.
