Put cameras out yesterday afternoon, not a bad way to start. This is a shooter buck in my neighborhood. I'd be happy to put a tag on him.

Also noticed that the frost we had yesterday morning smoked some of the buckwheat especially in the lower areas, as expected.

Super-looking plot pics!!! You nailed those plantings. Buck pic ^ ^ ^ and signs are all good. Nice work, and good luck tagging that buck!!

First sit of the year, looking for anything mature. There's a few around or so I've been told.
Sitting in my east wind blind over looking food. I've had some exciting hunts here during this pre-rut phase. Switchgrass is getting a little tall to get an archery shot through my pinch point, but there are a few locations I'll be able to squeeze one off if the opportunity presents itself.

I think there are 5 in this image but the video has another rooster and another hen come out for a total of 7. Pretty fun to see, should be able to get another hunt in this year.

That's a cool looking area. Did the switchgrass increase the number of deer bedding on your property or do they still primarily bed in the woods?

I don't have great bedding on my place, the elevations and layout arent great for where there is good cover at the moment. I'm working on adding cover to the right spots but that takes time. The switchgrass helps in that regard but it is only preferred structure at certain times.
