HOpefully one of us on the forum can get lucky and get a pair of chestnuts to survive the brutal north winters and bear fruit and supply fellow minnesotans with a cold hardy strain. Doesn't hurt to keep trying I guess. Put it this way, I had much better success with chestnuts two years ago with that brutal winter than I did with norway spruce! My one chestnut I planted showed signs of life this past summer, whereas the norway spruce looked grim all over.
