Spraying Cleth

Peeps

5 year old buck +
I am running up to my land tomorrow to do a few quick things. I need to spray Cleth in one of my clover plots this spring. My opportunities to get up there over the next month are limited and I want to treat the plot before the clover blooms to keep my honey bees from being exposed. The problem is that it is going to be sunny but with a high temp of only 53. Would treating at this temp be a waste of time?

Shouldn't be. If there's green grass that has grown, you should see a good, slow kill.

If the grasses are actively growing you should be ok.

That makes me feel better. The grass in the clover is green for sure.

You'll be way ahead of me. The sooner you get herbicide on the target the better.

Seems like I always have to add extra because I'm a month late.

As Mortenson said at post #2 - and Wiscwhip told me last year - cleth takes a bit to act. It is a slower kill, but give it time. I was looking last year for a brown-down a day after spraying. Whip advised me to give it time to do it's job. He was right. It worked just fine. Good advice from those who have used it for a while taught me the value of experience with it. Ag guys know their stuff when it comes to weed sprays.
