Small woody tree/shrub

Anyone have any idea? I want to say some kind of locust, but I never have seen one bigger that 8 ft tall or so. Has a woody stem. Have mowed them down on in a food plot but they seem to be resistant to Roundup and seem to sucker and spread. (Bottom of the pic with the PTT).

Wondering if it is a concern or not. Appreciate it!

I agree - looks like black locust to me. As they get bigger they should develop thorns (may have them now). Then can be VERY prolific, mowing will control seedlings, but as they can bigger you will need to cut them and treat the stumps as they will stump sprout readily as well.....you probably found that out all ready though.

Looks like black locust. Have a lot of it in my back yard. It is a SOB to get rid of. I dug holes in my yard this year for a deck addition and severed a few roots. Every root grew a new tree. Now have 5 or 6 growing out from under my deck. I'm going to transplant them to the hunting land though. A) to keep out trespassers coming from a certain direction and B) They do get a seed pod on that wildlife enjoy.

Garlon 4a will smoke it too. Whatever you do don’t pull it or cut it...spray and let the chemical work through the colony or stump.
