Root maker knit fabric bags

Mahindra3016

5 year old buck +
I have some wild pear and wild apples growing from seeds, My plan is to grow them in one of my raised garden beds for the spring and summer and plant them in the fall, I was looking at the root maker knit fabric ground bags that come in 12"x 5" and 12" by 8". Which size should i go with? I also have a bunch of 3 gal black plastic pots like you get green house plants from, could i use them instead of the bags?

Personally I would shy away from the pots. I have never used the in ground bags, but I am going to try them on some DCOs this year.

I just wonder if i drill a bunch of holes in the pots and put them in the garden the same as the bags if they would be just as good.
