Red spruce

One of our NC wildlife biologist is coming to take a look at our property in May. I asked him about recommendations for thermal cover and he mentioned red spruce and white pine, both native to the Appalachians.

White pine is readily available from most online sources but I can't find a good source for red spruce. Can anyone recommend a nursery that sells them?

New Hampshire state nursery.

There are a couple private red spruce restoration organizations in this story. They may also organize seedling sales.

If you have access to seeds, you might want to grow your own. See if the biologist could help get seed. Local seed would be better for you than New Hampshire seedlings
