Question on collecting scion

With the warmer weather we've been having in many areas of the country, is it OK to collect scion yet - or must the trees be exposed to extended cold first ??

The general recommendation is to harvest after the coldest period of winter I believe. With it having been warm I would wait as long as you can.

Thanks for asking the question. I want to check it off my list, but figured it was too early. So... January is chainsaw month.

Unless there is a reason to collect it now I would wait until the coldest part of winter has passed. Besides natural storage beats manmade storage.

I'm in no rush to collect scion - I was just curious. The warmer weather around the country had me wondering. We had daffodils in the wife's flower beds just breaking ground at Christmas. I wondered how the weather might affect scion collection timing. Thanks for the input, gents.
