Protecting late planted beans

I usually plant some beans in July. Here is a small patch that was planted at that time. Lots of browsing.

Fifty feet away is another small plot of beans and corn that was planted at the same time. My neighbor had been planting foodplots that were mixed rows of beans and corn. He emptied out his seed and gave it to me.

Too much corn, I know. But no browsing pressure.

Another plot about 100 yards away. Browsing pressure is just on the edge.

It looks like the thick corn protects the beans from browsing. Will it also protects the beans thru an early frost?

I always put beans between my corn rows, and the beans are browsed pretty good.
My row spacing is 28 inches on my corn planter, so there are nice corridors for the deer to walk down.

That is what we tried to do when planting this spring, but the rains flooded most of the plantings out. The pictures are of broadcasted seed.

Those beans at that stage should be a great draw come hunting time!
