Added to the family in early Oct. Winnie is picking things up fast. But Piper, the elder. Has been hunting like her life depends on it. Not sure if the addition lit a fire under her or what.

Pulling weeds and planting trees. Life is good. Missed yall lately.
Ended last year on a high note.
On to 24 and the second kiddo is on the way and time seems to be evaporating even faster.
After the draws, got a few tags in my pocket and looking forward to another trip around the sun.

I measured him 2x. Not the best at that whole process tho. He ended up at 284.

He's still huge. I took a crash course in elk measuring after I posted and was going to adjust to 300. I just threw out numbers, lol. He's got big mass and looks like a perfect 6x6. When are you guys due? Yeah you ain't kiddin, life is gonna cruise now. Enjoy it. My mom's fav song is Trip around the sun by buffet and martina.

Got bit by the Elk bug and can't seem to shake it.
Came away from this trip knowing full well there is a finite timeline that these adventures are still possible solo.

Nice work! Them elk are a riot, except for the packing part! I've been getting out of shape, more so because i'm not going elk hunting for the first time in a decade this year.. What state this year?

300 is a dang good bull in most of the country. Internet 300s are heck of a lot more common than real ones! I used to think a 350 class bull was just a matter of time but I've got less faith now!

Finally got a ticket off the struggle bus and it feels dam good. Think I saw everything and them some this season.
Pics don't him justice. Grey faced warrior. Second largest whitetail to date. And for sure oldest.
Might be controversial to some. But 17 yard frontal shot put a hurt on him. Didn't go past 20 yards and down in record time.

And that's a wrap on 24 deer camp. Now time for cards and a few Windsor cokes to celebrate. All ready posted my deer but Dad managed to drop the hammer on a doe as we were dragging my buck out. Fun outing. Was worried about my shot, cause a poor one, out of the same stand 19 years ago made me pick up the bow. Hope everyone finds a minute to say thanks to the man above and spend some time with those that matter most.
