pole saw opinions

IMO pole saw is a crucial tool if you are maintaining roads, shooting lanes etc...
Yep the roads and lanes...and add field edges.

Getting to the point where I just need to make the investment in a good pol20e saw.
Always lean towards quality over cost point. But am hoping not to have to break the bank.
When you want to get serious ... Silky, Its what the professionals use. You can get the HAYATE 20ft 3 extensions model on ebay for $326.

I have 40+ acres timber ranch and for fire prevention, we like to keep all lower branched cut off to about the 10 foot mark. So I bought a Honda UMC-435 power head, bought the pole saw extension for it and the added 4 foot extended center section too. Its a bit heavy, but it comes with a load bearing harness so your arms are not holding it up, just controlling it, so the power head is on my right hip. It rips right through the big branches with ease.
I also have a Fiskars manual operated pole saw that cuts on the pull stroke and does a nice job, but if you have lots to do, the power unit is the way to go.
This Honda power head can be used with the edger, line trimmer, tiller, brush cutter, loads of attachments for it.

I use a Silky Hayauchi pole saw and love it. Expensive...but worth the initial investment IMHO.
This is the same saw I have. It’s a high quality saw for sure and chews through wood like a champ.

Bought this one in July. Beast of a saw. Lithium battery. No gas or maintenance other than recharging and adding lube to chain reservoir.
