Overseed clover with Oats?

I have 2 food plots each about 1/4 acre in clover. I was thinking about overseeding them this coming august with oats, just to give them some variety along with the clover. What do you all think about this strategy? I'm in Northern Kentucky, by the way. thanks!

Should work fine but i'd plant in Sept. But I guess I dont know your deer density or when fall seasonal rains usually come down your way either so earlier could be better.

Well, you make a good point. It can be very dry here in august/September. However, I'm hoping to plant a few weeks before bow opener so I[m can get in and out a month before the season opens on September 1. However, as you said, if there is no rain to help it grow, then it will be useless.
