The coach is fine, GM is terrible at drafting . Not just at QB! I think we have 7 guys in the roster that he’s drafted in 3 yrs.
I didn’t think McCarthy would regress this bad, might be time for Brosmer !!

Regress this bad? He never proved himself in the first place.
If the coach and GM let Darnold walk and this is what their hand picked (and don't fool yourself, JJ is KOC's pick) player looks like, they're both gone by mid next year at the latest.
The roster isn't the problem, the QB is. The QB that the Coach/GM agreed was their future.
Good news is he's young. Bad news is he sucks (for now).

He’s basically a rookie . He was 2–1 at one time. Nobody would be complaining if he’s winning games . He legit should be 3-3, (Special teams lost the Bears game) even though he’s played poorly .
Hindsight is 20/20 on Darnold . He looked like dog shit the last two games of the year (last yr).
I didn’t want him back, most Vikings fans would have passed. I would have been ok with Daniel Jones on a cheaper contact .
Social media is full of armchair QBs that now say “wow why didn’t they keep Darnold” … those same guys have zero posts or predictions that passing on a $100 million dollar contract for Darnold was a poor choice .
His contact was deemed a huge risk by many top football experts .

Give McCarthy a chance. He's going to be good. Great? Maybe not but he will be good. That line was horrid yesterday, almost every qb would look bad behind that. Of course the Gb defense is pretty good.

Second look at the sack totals, he's a rookie he's been sacked 20 times, micah parsons alone pressured him 3 times and hit him 4, that's just 1. Kids got happy feet back there not looking for a receiver but trying to feel the next hit. Watch that game over, feet weren't planted ever, positioning off, he was a mess cause he plays scared. Try protecting him and he'll learn to be a good qb. To compare him to Russel is disingenuous at best. Different eras, different player, and Russel could have been good on a good team. I firmly believe ALMOST every qb out of the draft should be good in the right program. Coaches need to be smart enough to adjust the program to the player, most aren't . McCarthy didn't get here by being a bad qb

Sounds like you have a future as a QB coach Bill. Good news is, if this keeps up the Vikes will be hiring soon!
As for the alter ego, you'll have to look into that, but he calls himself "nine" when he plays a particular way, apparently.

This blows Bill's O-line excuse out of the water. He's just bad whether he's getting pressured or not.
Side note, every young/rookie QB gets blitzed a lot, this is nothing new. Up to him and his coaches to handle it better. Another side note, the Vikes O-line was completely healthy for the first time all season entering the game.

I'm a Packers fan Bill, he's not my QB.
I'm not the one breaking down his footwork.
I can see that he's historically bad, and the stats back that up. It would be nearly unprecedented for a player to start his career this poorly and turn it around to become even average.

Not a Vikings fan but spending this much time and effort on a team you say you don't even like? Is this the same thing as you're not a liberal? I'm confused. And I'm not breaking down his footwork. If you'd actually watch the game with even a little bit of knowledge you could see his footwork is all over the place. I'm sorry that you don't know sports well enough to see it. But there's no reason for you to be a dick about it
