Leaves are finally coming down northern WI. They were hanging pretty tough a few weeks ago and you hear more than you see.
My dog lets me tag along sometimes...

Great pic rocks! Not your typical looking upland bird dog, but much like our springer spaniel that was a beast at water retrieves on ducks and geese, the ones that truly have the instinct and desire to learn can cross from one type of hunting to the other without blinking an eye. BTW, what exactly is the weapon of choice in that pic?

Yes the mutt likes to go bird huntn whatever the flavor. It's pheasants this weekend!
That's a Franchi Veloce. My Christmas gift to myself a few years back when I slaved away at my old job and usually cashed vacation in at the end of the year. Solved that with the new job, cause reset the clock on all those vacation weeks...
