Mine still hanging

Tony,

I cannot say.

Most were gone by late November, but I do not know if they dropped, or if they were taken.

I saw very few on the ground, but that’s no surprise.

IMG_7527.jpegIMG_7530.jpegHoly has a pretty crab, mine are about 1 1/4”, but my trees are young, if age has any impact on fruit size. ?

These last 2 photos were on 10-2-25.

Midwest Deer Trees sales just opend up this morning. I got some Holy Crabs and a Swamp Donkey to try.
Hopefully my order went through , it's not like other places where the computer keeps track of inventory .
Then sends you a e mail. I think he has to look it over and e mail me.
It's been a half hour and it's still showing 30 trees in stock after I ordered 3 SO who knows.
He only has 30 or 35 of some trees , even less on some varieties only showed 7 and 11 trees.

I just want mine to start producing. I am getting some horse manure this February and I think I am going on year 5 with spotty production except for the pears which have been great.

My two Holy crabs were planted in April of 2022. They were small trees then, but they have been vigorous for me, and they both produced good crops in 2024 & 2025, so I cannot complain. And I had very few crab fruits this past season on my other trees, due to frost. I am glad that I have them.IMG_3248.jpeg

I THINK he's just selling 2 year old trees this year for $40 each. I'd just as soon have the smaller cheaper size if I could. I don;t like how some places chop them down to fit in a box.

Same here.

that explains why I haven't heard back from the order I put in this morning

I got tons of trees and I enjoy making my own grafts over the summer. But midwest has alot of nice crabs there. And on really good rootstock. If his shipping is on par with other guys pricing, his $40 trees are worth it.

That tree oaknut is holding up could be a 1 year graft. Thats what a decently cared for one looks like when put in good ground. Rootmaker pots in good soil and fertilizer I get 3ft sometimes 4ft the 1st year.

Singal fire put on good year in my backyard oaknut. No fruit yet, garage is partially shading it as well as a on the way out mature apple tree.

I haven't heard anything either. I'm willing to bet I was one of, IF not the very first order placed today. I sat their refreshing the page every few minutes and clicking the order box for about a hour . Finally about 8:45am the order box worked and I submitted what I wanted. His website is fine , it just needs a way to place an actual order on it , like Whitetail Crabs or Blue Hill has . Not this submit what you want and I'll get back to you in a e mail , like the dark ages.

I was right there with ya :)...ordered my 10

I'm a little worried , he only had 30 Holy Crabs and 26 Swamp Donkeys to start with.....Doesn't sound like much. I just ordered 4 trees total , to see how the do here first.

I just received my Pay Pal invoice this morning , so everythings good. I'm far away so wasn't surprised when the shipping was $45.00 but tax and fees was another $22.81 . If the trees grow well here I could see maybe placing one more order , OR try learning to graft . He does have a few new trees listed as possibly being available for 2027.

New! Possible Deer Trees for 2027:
Hardy Crab
Big Azz Crab
Tight A$$ Crab
Cluster R Us Crab

I'm running out of room ,and have trees coming this spring from Blue Hill and Whitetail crabs as well.

Alot of folks tout liberty as a good tree. When does liberty start dropping and when its close to tuckered out. Looking for 1 or 2 good month of october drop trees for a spot on farmland. Tresspassers are bad rifle season, so I usually only bow hunt there. The other parcel in the area is where I rifle hunt mostly. Looking for a good november into early dec drop tree for there. Got galarina and big dog over there, blue pearmain isn't growing too hot. Was thinking another big dog or crossbow maybe.

I don't have any BUT I think Whitetail crabs 10-point is a early dropper that might be good for OCT. Midwest has several late droppers according to their chartmwdt-2025-projected-drop-time-chart.jpg
