Juvenile Bald Eagles

Amazing what you get sometimes on your trail cams, this Maple tree fell over sometime in the winter and I stuck a cam on it a week ago. So far deer, squirrels, ducks, geese and now some juvenile bald eagles, hard to tell but there might be 3 definitely 2.

Great pics!

Cool pic! We have them at my home and they nest in a refuge behind my house. They are hilarious when they are learning to fly!

That is really neat. I wish I knew what they were looking to feeding on. Frogs, tadpoles, fish... whatever, they seem right at home on the log. Great pics.

I'm not sure where the nest is, we see them every so often but I can't say they are regulars.

I would say frogs this pond will be dried up later this summer so I doubt there are any fish in there. For years I've wanted to dig this out into a pond but haven't had the time, hopefully this year I'll get to it.

Great pictures scott!!

Thats awesome! I got similar pictures over the winter on a bait pile. Must be a 2 yr old and a couple more like 4 yrs old, from what ive read.

Those are awesome!! Grew up around falconry so I've always been amazed by birds of prey.

When my boys were younger they took a road kill and threw a cam over it and got all kinds of pics and over 200 pics of bald eagles.

We have a place in KY called Bernheim Forest. They would do the same with deer carcasses. Locals were excited when they got bald eagle pics but everyone was pumped when they started getting annual pics of a mature golden eagle (not considered a "local bird" for us). I know lots of immature balds are mistaken for goldens but this thing is legit. My understanding is they trapped it and put a transmitter on it (and confirmed that it was indeed a golden) so they could track it's migration habits. They named it Harper and I believe the last time I checked, he was in Canada.

They are neat critters for sure!

AWESOME pics!
