Help with tree...

Catscratch

5 year old buck +
You guys are my go-to group for my fruit trees and fruit tree knowledge! I am concerned with one of my Che trees. Not sure what is going on with it but if anyone can help let me know.

A different one planted at the same time:

Looks like some of my grafts after I planted some. Unfortunately mine died that looked like that. If it is watered properly I think it might be on its way out. I think maybe the roots died or are dying

That would like of suck if it was a bad graft.
I'm not sure what to think of this nursery. I guess not all grafts can be successful, but I'm also pretry sure they mislabeled the trees I ordered. Suppose to be two females and one male but this spring the male put on the starts of fruit and the two females didnt...

I think it is likely a root establishment issue as well. Other than that I cant be much help here, as I dont know anything about Che trees. It has been a tough weather year again for growing trees. I have had a couple of issues affecting tree growth this year as well.

It's been a good growing yr for me and everything I've planted has done well so I'm thinking either the tree is under attack, or its just a weak tree. Honestly I hope you guys are right and I just got a lemon of a tree.

By the way, those DCO's I got from you (Turkey) are doing great!

I have a couple nicer looking 3 yr old DCOs that have acorns on them this year. At least they have the appearance of acorns, not real familiar with oaks and whether they will produce an infertile acorn. They are still pretty tiny and I would think they would have more size to them at this point in the summer. I never saw any male flowers on them and there are no other native oaks within a half mile. The other smaller DCOs have shown some good growth as well. The apple and pear trees are lagging behind at this point though.

Update on this tree just in case anyone who helped was curious. It got down to just a twig with barely a leaf on it. I never saw an insect on it and it appeared that the leafs were just falling off. I sprinkled it with some seven dust just for giggles and walked away. She made a huge recovery and is outgrowing the other two planted near her.

I had an Everbering mulberry that I planted at the same time dropping leafs also. Some seven dust and a month later it's covered with fresh growth too. Not sure if it was summer stress or some bug, but I'm relieved they are doing better.
