Goldrush

Here is a photo of my best looking tree. 3rd leaf goldrush on P18 rootstock from Cummins. About 15 ft tall. Had a couple apples last year. I thinned some this spring and summer but left quite a few apples. Maybe 6 weeks ago, i tipped the top over far enough to get most of the high apples off. This is the corner tree of the orchard that i hope will become a great draw for late season flintlock hunting.

I am pleased the P18 trees are producing already. Also had some fruit on 3rd leaf Enterprise and wolf River. Bunch of Dolgo fruit. I think Nova Spy flowered. My 2015 Norland benchgraft has 3 apples and as do several crabs I got from GRIN. Only the 3rd leaf Honeycrisp is holding out.

I have shied away from the P.18 rootstock for fear it would take forever to bear. But these look great after only 3 years. I like everything else about the P.18, so I'll look for some this fall. Thanks chicken!

Very nice looking tree. I have one gold rush and plan on adding a few more next spring

I wasn't sure how long P18 would take either. I only got it because certain varieties were only available on it when I ordered from Cummins. I have since used quite a few P18 for my own grafting but I hedged by using a lot of B118 and the larger Geneva series too. There aren't many varieties I only have on P18.

Great looking Goldrush tree !! Wait 'til you sink your fangs into those. They are probably my favorite apple.
