Going planting.....

No way am I going to get behind a DR for 10 hours not when I can spray with glyphosate and my ATV sprayer a month or two earlier and eliminate the wrist ache, burnt belt smell and aggravation.

ATVs certainly make thing easier and more fun. But boy, those DR's have their place! In bluff country that DR will cut places an ATV or tractor would never dream of going!

Good work. Youll feel good when you get a picture of a nice buck there using it!

You are correct, but I am 3.5 hours away and have been buried with work with ZERO chance to get away. Did what I had to do.

Just talked to the neighbor up north. He lives 500 feet from one of our plots. 2.5 inches of rain in about 30 mins. Pretty sure that pounded my brassica seed into the dirt. Very pleased right now. Hopefully in two weeks I can get up and spread some urea in the rain.

Yep, it poured. I was at Moondance in a camper when that storm went through. At least it wasn't as bad as last years storm. The rain definitely came down hard.

I spread urea on Friday night, and we got a good .5 inch a couple hours later, perfect!

Well done. That is a damn good feeling. I am jealous you got to apply in daylight though.

Went up north on Wed night just before the rain to spread urea since chance coming up dont look very good. The storm just kinda grazed us up there and we got about 4/10ths. Should be enough to get the urea in, but an inch would have been way better. I got a hell of a good kill on the plots. Germination for the brassicas was great in some spots and poor in others. I tried to patch in the bald spots with the last 3 lb of seed I had left. If it still doesnt go I will try to fill in bare spots with rye in a few weeks. Very dry up there. Need rain. East of Leech lake about 20 miles. IMG_1291[1].JPG IMG_1299[1].JPG IMG_1311[1].JPG

Looks pretty good, Buck. I like that spacing if it's representative. Looks like you have rub posts ready too, and also fence posts to rub? I added some lbs of brassica seed to thin stands in front of yesterday's 80% chance and we didn't get a drop. Sometimes the rain doesn't cooperate. Seemed kinda dry up at Cass last week, but the lake levels were good and so was the walleye fishing.
