Giant Miscanthus vs Heavy Snow

There's a guy close to me that raises GM and offers it for sale. I was driving by on Monday and thought it was interesting to see it standing tall after getting 30+ inches of snow dumped on it in a couple of days.
Poor picture, but you get the point.

I've had MG for probably 10 to 12 years in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and it has been my experience that it never gets knocked down by snow. While it is a grass, the blades end up being more like canes than blades of grass. They are perhaps 1/2"diameter or more and are very strong. They are pretty much all still standing each spring.

It will receive more of a test today. We've had 4' of snow now since last Friday and are now under a blizzard warning with an additional 20" predicted and 50-60 mph winds.
20 miles south has green grass.

I bet it makes it. An ice storm followed by wind might break it.
