Fox populations near you

When I was a kid I trapped a lot. Could catch fox any time we wanted if we trapped in town. Could catch Yotes outside of town. Never catch one where you'd catch the other.
I'd venture to say it's very difficult to guess their populations by observations. I wouldn't see one for years, but could trap several in a short amount of time. I "see" more bobcats than I do foxes and I consider them somewhat secretive to the casual observers out there.

Habitat loss. Loss of mouse & rabbit habitat. Simple as that.

I wish they would work over the vole population around my apple trees.

Looking good here. I have no reference for population trends. I have been watching this one for over a year. I notice the area east of me, separated by a 1000' deep-wide gulch has lots of coyotes.

Not many reds around and I haven't seen a grey in over 20 years.
