Early change to red fruit

Curious if others have seen this or what factors may cause it. Have a ranetka seedling that in several spots a single fruit has turned very red while everything adjacent is still very green or just a slight blush. The tree is predominately green fruit and some light red blush but you have these spots which just stand out. This tree typically ripens after Labor Day. When I google uneven ripening it always discusses the delay of ripening and causes but not any of this type of behavior.

It does not seem to be hugely sun related because most of these are tucked in the leaves pretty well. It does appear most are on the west side of the tree. But really sparse. Maybe 7-8 out of hundreds of fruit. The last pic is more of what nearby fruit look like.

My thought is it might just be the earliest blooms that get pollinated could be a couple weeks or more difference between the earliest and latest blooms I’ve even had one tree loose all its blooms to a late frost and very very lightly rebloom a little latter.

There's always one kid that's gotta be different!

I see it quite a bit on my trees, I have no idea what causes it. It is nice to have a ripe apple ahead of schedule though. I ate a Liberty apple just like that today. It was deep red, the rest around it are not. It tasted pretty darn close to ripe.

Thanks for the feedback fellas so far. Interesting that TC sees this with some regularity. First time have really noticed any here. Maybe next time over there will try cutting a red one in half and compare the seeds to a nearby green one. Doesn't seem that there are two red next to each other ever, spread out with just an isolated one here and there.
