Curious if others have seen this or what factors may cause it. Have a ranetka seedling that in several spots a single fruit has turned very red while everything adjacent is still very green or just a slight blush. The tree is predominately green fruit and some light red blush but you have these spots which just stand out. This tree typically ripens after Labor Day. When I google uneven ripening it always discusses the delay of ripening and causes but not any of this type of behavior.
It does not seem to be hugely sun related because most of these are tucked in the leaves pretty well. It does appear most are on the west side of the tree. But really sparse. Maybe 7-8 out of hundreds of fruit. The last pic is more of what nearby fruit look like.
