Cutting Aspen

What is the latest that Aspen can be cut to produce optimal suckering from the roots? I have an area I can't get to for a few more weeks, would rather wait until next winter if it's not going to produce the way I want.

I would say you should be cutting now. Actually you should have cut in Feb. If temps increase in March where sap starts running up into tree, a waste of time, as all energy is moving away from roots system.
