@john volkman is there anything special that I'm gonna have to do to take my K series home offline and replace it with the L series home?
CS can move your existing cell plan to the new unit, to do so..... add the L to your account but dont pick a plan or by a plan for it, just add the device , then call cs and they can move the plan from your K to the L@john volkman is there anything special that I'm gonna have to do to take my K series home offline and replace it with the L series home?
try doing a reset under test mode then pull batteries and let screen die then put new batteries in, id also try a new antenna form a camera that is linking. if that doesnt work you can call cs and they will give you you options but if the radio went out then they likely cant be fixed. they will take them on trade towards a new L if you prefer to do that . Id also try setting one of them as a home and link it to another remote on another channel to make sure its not your K radio that is the issue as it would be odd for 3 to all go out at the same time.John,
I have three different J-series cameras that will power up normally but cannot connect to the Cuddelink network, even when being just a few feet from the K-series Home. These all worked last year but when I went to deploy them this summer I noticed this issue. They are all on FW 8.3.
What do you recommend? Originally I was thinking about restoring the cameras to a factory default and then reloading the 8.3 FW, but I couldn't find information on how to do this. I tried to re-load the 8.3 and the cameras said SUCCESS, but it still has the connectivity issue and it is unclear if the cameras loaded the "new" 8.3.
These are all really great suggestions. Thanks John!try doing a reset under test mode then pull batteries and let screen die then put new batteries in, id also try a new antenna form a camera that is linking. if that doesnt work you can call cs and they will give you you options but if the radio went out then they likely cant be fixed. they will take them on trade towards a new L if you prefer to do that . John, if we have already installed Gen3, will the update happen automatically as expected?shouldnt be , there may be an update to GEn 3 coming soon so if you arent deploying quite yet , ill announce if that is released on the forum.
yes unless you are running a g or K home those models you may need to do another manual to the home only yet.John, if we have already installed Gen3, will the update happen automatically as expected?
@john volkman Thanks for the info. What can I do with my decommissioned K camera? I'm assuming I can't use it in my network after upgrading to the L series home.CS can move your existing cell plan to the new unit, to do so..... add the L to your account but dont pick a plan or by a plan for it, just add the device , then call cs and they can move the plan from your K to the L
A K camera can only be a home and needs a cell plan to operate so your options are.... sell it , or you can trade it in for 30% off something else at cuddeback - I would remove it from your account once the L is activated and the plan is moved to the new home, You could also use it as a backup as the plan can be moved back if needed@john volkman Thanks for the info. I have only had one camera that resembles this, and same, changed the card and was working last week, but I am not sure on this week. I couldn't get it to manually take a photo either.Has anyone noticed that after a period of time, some cameras start to get finicky and stop responding? A manual reset/restart usually gets the camera working again, but only for a few days/weeks. I've found that replacing the SD card resolves the issues. I've had this happen on 3-4 cameras now. The oldest ones have been out for about two years. Any tips for working through this? With folks only being at camp every few weeks, it's disappointing when the cards randomly start to cause issues, especially as hunting season approaches. Any recomendations for SD cards that may last longer?
The thumbnail images are the new Verify pictures that are taken each day for each camera. John has noted these do not count against picture counts. These do not have any data bars and are simply a nice way to ensure the cameras are working (and pointed where we left them). We have been seeing some weird things on Camp lately. Images missing the data bar at the bottom of the image, and some images displayed as a very small thumbnail. I still use camp since the app will not allow you to categorize images yet.
Appreciate the verify info. I either overlooked or forgot itThe thumbnail images are the new Verify pictures that are taken each day for each camera. I am looking forward to the additional features going live, as that will bring camp up to the other software we are using.
I keep having challenges with the new Generation 3 Cuddelink System. I have a network that is on an L home camera and Cuddelink keeps pushing new updates and every time it does, I keep losing remote cameras (they get disconnected or have some glitch). I have replaced multiple memory cards to get them to come back online, but this is really irritating. I have had this setup with a K camera home on this property for 4 years and hardly ever had to touch the cameras or home except to load new firmware once per year. I replaced the home with the L this year as I thought this would eliminate the need for me to even update the firmware once per year, but it has been terrible. All of the remote cameras are L cameras. Another issue seems to be getting updates to the remote cameras that are more that one link away from the home. Before I lost all the remote cameras today, I had remote cameras on several versions of the Gen 3 firmware. It looks like some updated a couple steps ahead of others. Is this causing my issue? Anyone else having issues like this???
