Been having sporadic cell transmission issues for about a week. Weirdly enough it coincided with us losing a steer in the pasture. Wouldn’t you know a buzzard has perched on my pole, broken an antenna, and shit on everything?! Time for some bird strips and a new antenna is already on the way…

My old "home" camera was a G model and it's been replaced by a new L Home model. The L model and all the cameras except the old home are transmitting pics just fine as remotes (J's and G's).

But my old "G home model" (now wanting to be a remote) has not sent any pics since I put it in the field a week ago. I was under the impression I could make this a remote, but I must have missed a setting. Is this explained anywhere? I have not found it.

How did you change the home unit? I'm going to do this eventually. John suggested to call Cuddeback to do the change. He said don't activate anything before calling. Maybe they have to "demote" the G home to remote mode. I don't see a way to do it in camp. Maybe you can do it from the camera by setting it to a remote.

I did not know this. I stopped my cell service over the winter.....and got the new L Home base camera. Then set it up this spring.....and now the camp page shows both the old G Home and the new L Home at the base camp. All the remotes are listed under the new L Home unit currently (except the old G Home as said).

I guess I need to get on the phone. I may have activated both of these cameras as Home units?when doing my set-up.....but I have not seen any pics from the "old G Home unit.

I'm dazed and confused by these things. Generally they work well after the "whitewater time" when setting 'em up. The new firmware is a challenge for me too.....but I think I am on top of that now.

cell units cannot be a remote, they can only a home, the only way you can make it a remote is to replace the cell cap with a link cap , the g series and caps are discontinued so you would need to find a used one somewhere to use that old g home, or sell it, or trade it intowrds a L remote in which you would get 30% off retail by trading it in, if i was you id sell it.

OK. Good to know. FS or trade one G series Home unit....in fantastic condition. $500 or best offer. Will trade for diesel fuel. grin.

I’ve always used camp on a web browser, and am not sure if the IOS app is the new or old. But I cannot find any settings to have select cameras send higher resolution. So I'm guessing old, and no newer version seems available. Any suggestions or direction to get me on track? Very excite to try the new features.

And all the cameras are updated, except one, that I forgot about. Will that matter till I can get back to it?

What is the version of the new app? It looks like I’m on version 2.0, and that is the latest I see available in the App Store. How do I get the newest? Do you have a screen shot of the location to designate hi res?

Well nevermind. I looked in the App Store before sending the above reply, then looked again right after hitting send, and the update was there???

I’m a day in with Gen 3 and besides an occasional crash of the new app, really loving it. Two questioned.
1: The hi res images look great at 2MP, but is it my imagination, or do the .3MP low res images look better than they used to?
2: Is there any way to add images to categories on the app, or is that only available on the web version of camp?

shouldn't be any change low res images other than the way they are displayed on the app. im not sure they will move categories to the app , they are working on recognition features but it needs to be perfected.

John, one thing I don't like is that the new app does now work on iPads or tablets with keyboards. The only viewing option is portrait. The old app automatically adjusted to portrait or landscape. The new app works only on portrait. Is this something they can work on, as many users use tables with keyboards.

my understanding is camp will be reworked soon to match the app and that will be the way to use those devices with the same functionality. the challenge is we need ot get users on GEn 3 so all of it works
