To all Cuddeback Users in regards to Gen 3.
Firmware 3.2 is now available for the L series and firmware 9.2 for the G, J, & K series cameras. This update addresses recent issues, improves performance, and enhances reliability. This is a manual update that should be done on ALL cameras on your network. Installing it manually can be done now and will get your network operating with the best possible performance. We are still working towards over-the-air updates in the future as that goal has not changed.
Our team has worked hard to provide you with a firmware update that addresses the issues some users have experienced and delivers a stable, reliable system. Even if your system has been working correctly, we recommend installing this update to ensure optimal performance and stability. Thank you for your patience, as we worked on this update. We know waiting isn't easy so close to season. You can get this firmware by emailing into our Customer Support email at cuddeback.support@cuddeback.com or it will be available on our website for download next week.
I am getting this same error. L series...has been working fine. Switched to the new L Home unit so this cam and all the others were just sitting here for nearly a week (2 hours from home) until I got this new Home up and running . Went to upload the new firmware for this one L and I'm getting this error. Tried different cards. Tried the taking out the batteries, the reset. Same error.Cleared the sd card while in the cam. Then took card back to computer and reloaded fw. Still said “check sd”
Is the firmware in a folder on the card? (Shouldn't be)I am getting this same error. L series...has been working fine. I'm going to leave the batteries out and do some other stuff and check back later.
Nope.Is the firmware in a folder on the card? (Shouldn't be)
Are you sure you downloaded the right file?
Well I sent an email to them yesterday morning and haven't heard back. I will try calling this afternoon if I have time. Maybe I will get lucky and there will not be a wait.Nope.
Yep. It worked in the two new L's I got as well as the G's after the low battery issue was solved.
I tried numerous SD cards... Different sizes.
This problem L and the two G's were the ones that were left out waiting to be hooked up with the new Home.
Can you explain the whole problem?Well I sent an email to them yesterday morning and haven't heard back. I will try calling this afternoon if I have time. Maybe I will get lucky and there will not be a wait.
Unless anyone else has some suggestions...
1. Yes, 2 L strobes and a Home unit(which I did at home)as well as 2 G strobes worked fine using the same SD card. Can you explain the whole problem?
1. You have 1 L camera that won't update to new firmware?
2. What firmware version is it on?
3. How did you format the SD card that you're trying to load firmware from? Or did you use it as it came out of the package?
Suggestion. Put the SD card into the camera and have it "Clear"/format the card. Put the SD card into your PC and then copy the firmware to the SD card. Put the SD card back into the camera and try flashing it.
- What could be happening is the card is formatted with the wrong file system. (FAT/FAT32/NTFS)
@john volkman, can you share directions from Cuddeback on how to properly format an SD card? I can't find their directions, if they exist.
Man if you had only read my post a few weeks ago! LOLI finally got a response from them...and an easy, quick fix. Maybe John posted this elsewhere in another thread.
I don't know why I downloaded the ones for the L twice...that was the issue. I remember putting the files back on the sd card I was going to take up north to the other cams because I had tried the format option with the card I was using in one of the L's when done.
So if your file has (1)...or even (2) etc I guess at the end of it..delete it/them off of your computer and then put the one left back on to your formatted SD card. Or delete all the cdy files and reinstall from the website like I did.
Thank God. I'm ready for the weekend
Edit... This all does sound familiar... Seems this was discussed before.. maybe for previous cameras even.
Well if they would have responded right away!Man if you had only read my post a few weeks ago! LOL
I could have saved you a lot of grief. I battled the double download issue for a couple of days before I called Tech Support and they had it figured out in short order.
Not sure which cam that is but all my new L Strobes do this if indoors or a deer or something gets too close. Completely white with nothing else showing in most of them. Very different from my other white flash cams including Cuddebacks.
