Cuddelink general Q&A recommendations

So if we updated to 3.0 and 9.0, should the system now automatically update to 3.1 and 9.1? I’m guessing not, because mine have not yet.
they arent pushing 9.1 and 3.1 out over the air as its not necessary and the timing will upset some people so if you want that update you need ot do it manually, all it does is enable J and g remotes to send hi rez. they likely wont use over the air updates out until after season .

John,
Here’s a crazy idea for your team to consider… my use case is I don’t need all phots delivers as hi-res, just the bucks from all the cameras. 🙂 So, offer a toggle for each image in Camp to deliver the high-res version. Or each image you favorite in Camp has the hi-res version delivered thru the network. Just a thought.

the images in camp have already been sent , they are sent/ loaded to camp and then your email address and the app at basically the same time, what you are asking is not possible at this time, keep in mind images are sent from remotes via RF not Cellular , this is where the challenge is. The camera that actually takes the picture is where the hi res image is sent from, its an all or nothing scenario for each camera right now, it was a huge undertaking to even get this accomplished via RF.

What home model do you have? John answered that unless you have an L series home, you will need one more manual update for the G series homes to push updates to L series remotes.
We have 3 set ups. 1 with an L and 2 still on Gs. 60 cams total, so it will be a while before they all become Ls. And I saw John’s follow up reply. Thanks!

I am on Gen3 now and it looks to me like the "links" in the detailed reports from the app does not appear to be correct and does not jive with the CAMP. The app shows 5 with 5 links, two with 1 link, and 10 with 0 links. CAMP, which I believe is correct, shows all 1s, 2s, and a couple 3s as it has always been.

Getting photos is a whole lot quicker now.

the is a glitch in the app they are working on, dont be concerned unless you arent receiving pics,

I've had an "extra" PW-3600 in my "inventory" and not been used for 2 years. Looks like new. Going to place it in the sun for a few days and would like to use it in a sunny location. What are the chances the battery in the solar unit is good? Any way to check it?

Do I hook up the "solar out" reecepticle to the camera.....or the "battery out" receptacle. Not sure I have a cable to connect to the yellow "solar out" port. Seems like this is a good fix for one of my cameras. (I never knew they had a battery to store the juice.) So much tech info to absorb when you buy this stuff (for an old duffer like me).

Likely need to add some more solar panels soon.....as I now somewhat understand the features and how they work. Liking my setup more as I get to know all the features. Well thought out product line.

Solar out port.

plug the solar into the camera with the camera empty , this will tell you if the panel is holding a charge, if not, set it in the sun for a couple days and try again, if that doesnt work it may just need a new solar battery which is easy to replace. you dont use the yellow port only the brown one

I just deployed a new one that had been in hot-cold storage for about a year. Threw it out in the sun for a few days works great. Same with the batteries, as long as they are stored at a proper voltage they will stay good for a long time.

If it is a used panel that got stored for a couple years, you might be looking at some batteries that have lost some capacity, but they should still be plenty good. Worst case is $10-25 for a new battery pack.

I wished the PW3600 had an auxiliary port that allowed a supplemental solar panel to feed it for those that are struggling with enough sun, or a way to parallel them so they can work more like a PW-003, which are great.

Hey John is there a way to get cameras to send hi res pics to a non cell home?

yes but this is assuming you have a home with cell capabilities, you would need to update to gen 3, buy a cell plan for one month , enable the cameras and or settings you want(id suggest using it for month to determine how many camera you can run on hi res without slowing your network down) then cancel the plan and it will do so. if you dont have a cell home , you cannot, as the command comes from a cellular home unit only.

Was hoping there was a way around that. Thanks for getting back to me and for all your input on this site.

So with the new update you will be able to request hi resolution Images from the app? Will this work for all model cameras? Or just Ls and Gs?

on the app - you enable a camera to send all its respective images in hi res, but yes works on all cameras _ you cant request a specific individual image - that is to difficult to do via RF

So is this a setting you just go and turn on for each camera and it just sends all its pictures every day in hi res?

yes , dont do your entire network though, hi res uses 4 times the data as the low res and it slows things down, keep the number of cameras to a handful if you have a large network

The PW3600 has the ability to accept a second battery pack that may help some
