Seeing any dieback on your trees yet? Only one I have noticed is a mulberry I propogating. Everything I have is at least zone 4 at my zone 5/6 home. Even granny Smith which is at least group 5 due to long time to ripe, that's been good.

At camp looks like -18 has been the coldest recorded where there's a weather station. Usually at camp it's another 4 or 5 degrees colder when it's bad out.

Any nurseries bite on clowns nose yet?

Looks like it's gonna get even colder today and the next couple. Even here in SE Pa. they're calling for - 20, -25 wind chills. -5 to 3 above actual air temps. That'll test some trees!

Its 2 here now. I've seen -17 so far this year. Too much snow for my bad knee to go check on trees. Going through withdrawals not checking on my babies!

Windchill temp means nothing to trees.
hope so...almost -30 windchill here with real temps around 0...us PA fellas arent used to that...I worry enough about voles, drought, rabbits and the 18000 other things I cant control to protect those trees....

It is too early to detect winter kill from this year.

My St. Edmund’s Russet was suffering last fall and I suspect it will be the next to come down.

It was one of our favorites for eating.

About -32 or 33 for a brief period at daybreak is the coldest I have seen.

No one has Clowns Nose that I can remember.

Great photos Sandbur. My gosh! Looks like you’re feeding a herd of deer with your crabs. You’re definitely helping many get through this rough winter. 👍

My neighbors brought two bales of hay and that has helped
