Knehrke,
Would you happen to know why the great Dr. Fauci flopped so hard on the two mask are better than one??? If we are supposed to follow the science, and Dr. Fauci finally figured out after a year that two mask are better than one why cant he convince Xiden and the rest of high command to wear two mask all the time?? And why did it take him a whole year to figure out that two are better than one?? Some people people inside the Reich cant even figure out how to properly wear one.

It's a bit of common sense, I suspect - respirators would be better than masks, but good luck getting folks to wear them. So far as I know, two masks are better than one. And done. Make up your own mind on what you want to do to protect yourself or others.
And the guy is a public health advocate. Give him a break. It's like asking the NRA to come down on the side of gun legislation. Not going to happen. Of course he has a vested interest. It's his job to promote public health. It's really up to the other parties with vested interest to take the information that he provides, to weigh it against other concerns, and to prioritize outcomes.
And to take offense at front line health care workers being called "heros"? Really, Bill? How does that diminish you in any form? Are you so angry that you're willing to tee off on anyone, biting the hand that tries to help you? I personally know of many, many folks who sacrificed in ways that frankly would have been difficult for me, all to help those in need. Their job is to work 40 hours a week in safe conditions. Not 80-100 hours a week until they're beyond exhaustion, having someone else take care of their kids during this crisis, and risking their own health - front line workers were the most frequent victims during the first wave, particularly in the hardest hit countries like Italy.
I'm pleased to call them heros. And a lot more people besides, who've put aside all the bitterness and animosity to work for the good of others.

I don't disagree with what you said, I also don't disagree with your numbers. We don't know the reasons, only the outcomes and have seen the hypocrisy amongst the very people imposing the lock-downs and restricted movement. To me it appears there is an attempt to crash our economy and ultimately freedoms. Money and power always seeks more money and power. Data is what we all work off and data is easily and often manipulated to achieve whatever one is trying to do. That is why I mentioned Man made Climate Change we are all going through since 2012 Paris Accord, and so much money is spent on it.Since I don't have a dog in this fight and I don't choose to run with (think support) either of the big dogs in this tussle (my beliefs are my own) ... I probably should take my pup and remain on the porch.
However, data accuracy and data sources should always be verified ... in the interest of good social science manifested as lucid and transparent discussions/debates. The only time-point-of-reference in post #3965 above is the last 5 yrs; I used that time period to examine the veracity of three statements central to the arguments being made. Since the CDC was mentioned repeatedly, I choose the CDC as my data source.
https://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/burden/past-seasons.html
Statements 1 & 2
"Does anyone else find it odd that the number of people that got Covid (28 million) is ironically close to the same number of flu cases the US gets on average every year (32.6 million)?"
"We average 32.6 million cases of the flu every year here in the US over the last 5 years"
Statements 1 & 2 are related. Using CDC data, the total number of cases of flu over the past 5 years is 172M or 34.4M average per year; therefore, the 32.6M cases mentioned in statement 2 is 1.8M lower than CDC estimates by 22.9% (34.4-32.6 = 1.8 divided by 32.6). I'll leave it to each individual to decide if that is "ironically close" from a statistical standpoint.
"I didn't suggest anywhere that this is a hoax although I am not convinced Covid is as deadly as it has been portrayed..."
Over the past 5 years, the flu has claimed the lives of 178K individuals or roughly 35,600 per year (likely would have been much higher without a flu vaccine).
Covid19, on the other hand, has laid waste to over 530,000 folks in essentially a single year (more deaths than WW1, WW2, and Vietnam combined). If even half the reported covid 19 deaths are bogus reports, the remaining 265,000 covid 19 deaths in a single year is 7+ times greater than the average annual flu death.
How one might look at this fact depends on whether one considers it in an absolute sense or relative to other diseases (e.g., flu virus or herpes/shingles virus).
Carry on gentlemen
I see fear is in your nature.......Since I don't personally know you, Bill, I'm going to say that you are entitled to your own opinion and choose to slowly back away, facing you all the while. This is getting to be a bit much for me. Good luck with everything - I truly do wish you all the best.
It's funny that the fouch thinks he still has credibility. Standing him up against an actual doctor Like Senator Paul just isn't fair.Where is the science?
Good for you. Our sons grade school called us in when he was in first grade. “They”did the evaluations and felt we needed to take our son to the doc for ADD. Screw that, Christian school within a week and then home school from third through eighth grade. Then a private HS. He’s a junior in college and thriving now. Never took a pill.simply because she doesn't pay attention in school, she does fine everywhere else in life, the school counts ADD and ADHD as a handicap and gets much more funding for handicap students from the government. My conclusion, my daughter doesn't have ADD and School is as boring to her as it was to me.
I played the game for a little while after CPS (Child Protective Services) showed up at my house, they can be rather intimidating. It is quite eye opening to have the school report me for "neglect" because I didn't just go along and did what I felt was best for my kid. It's all about money for the school and control from the government (CPS). I suppose some people don't see that stuff and simply don't think it happens. NY recently made the law that every child that attends public school has to be vaccinated (not Covid just regular ones) or they couldn't attend, ignoring Constitutional rights like freedom of religion and the Liberals cheered :( Americans love their subjugation, PLEASE take away my rights, I don't use them all anyway!!Good for you. when they showed up I was working on a deck, drenched in sweat, wearing a sleeveless tee shirt.
