Be careful forming an opinion on a diverse nation based on the actions of their leader, likewise treating Turkey as a united homogeneous unit. The Turkish "ethnicity" is a relatively new concept, and they are not very good at politics or understanding their place in the world. They are basically the remnants of the Ottoman empire and only became "Turkey" after WW1.

Erdogan Was the first elected president, and he's a self-serving prick who has been using his power to erode the democratic system in Turkey and suppress political opposition and protests against him.

I'm not saying he doesn't have the support of the majority, but a lot of Turks clearly disagree with him, and elections and polls are rather opaque in Turkey.

I thought we conservatives were against getting dragged into other countries conflicts? Maybe if you treat longtime allies like dirt and then don't consult them for the next war before you do it (and declare victory the next day right before you ask for help) maybe its easier to understand why they took a pass on getting dragged into a new misadventure.

Also, the idea is "an attack on any NATO country is an attack on all". Not "an attack by a NATO country requires every country to join in the attack".

Right now the only thing keeping Putin out of eastern Europe is a bunch of brave and smart Ukranians defending their own soil and the NATO alliance.

BTW- I just bought 23 gallons of gas for $4.19. We are already out of beef for the year at the WW residence. Wife called the meat processer where our farmer friend takes the beef we eat. Yes, they have the ground beef we need, but it's $7 a pound. WTF.

Trump could get beef put into some trade deals and get some global market share for American beef farmers. The more our global market share decreases, the more inroads we make fornthe Kiwis, whose beef exports are skyrocketing, especially to China. Meanwhile US beef exports are becoming more and more expensive and less available.

I'm guessing the next 5 to 10 years will see a seismic shift in US agriculture. I would hate to see a future where everyone is eating chicken and soyburgers because it's the only thing most people can afford.

Most of the actual beef producers aren't making big money. It's mostly a monopoly of 4-5 processors that are making money.

There are less processors for small scale producers. They get to full production and it becomes harder for small producers.

I believe it. I couldn't make heads of tails of the source of the problem. I just see US beef prices and imports at all-time highs, and exports are falling. It's a worrying trend that seems to be part of a looming crisis in US agriculture, and I don't see much being done about it.

They want our protection from Russia but buy Russian energy. The armies of europe can't defend themselves in any way shape or form.

The US spent billions in Ukraine after, for the most part, disarming them and pretty much setting back and letting Russia invade. Well, Obama and Biden said don't, then set back and watched.

In the meantime, the euros just kept whining while doing nothing more than shredding electric power production capabilities making themselves more reliant on Russia and China.

All while paying and supporting people of other countries that hate them to invade and destroy them from within.

Not far off. It takes about 2 years to raise a beef steer.

I just see corn and soybean prices in the dirt and beef prices at all-time highs, and I wonder why there's not an effort to produce more beef. I assume it's because US retailers can make more money importing it. But then how are the Trump tariffs helping US agriculture? If beef quality in the US is dropping and prices are rising, this is bad for consumers. I paid $8 a pound for ground beef at Meijer several weeks ago, and I was gobsmacked.

My super nutrition conscious uber fitness nut 23 year old daughter that used to eat a lot of chicken is murdering our corn fed lean ground beef.

Corn is up 8% in six months, Soybeans are up 15% in 6 months. Beef is near all time high .

My farmers on the farms I own would like to see higher prices, but they all seemed encouraged by the increase? One guy bumped up the rent ? Nobody wants to give it up !

Diesel and fertilizer will eventually come back to reality, a lot of guys locked in prices.
